Obituary

NEWARK - Wilma G. Evans Newlon, 72, of 400 Washington Street, Newark, Ohio, died at 6:10am Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at her home. Born April 8, 1931 in Dresden, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Arnold R. and Ruby I. (Lacy) Breeden. Mrs. Newlon was a homemaker and a member of the Truth Tabernacle of Fredonia, Ohio. Surviving is two sons, John Evans of Martinsburg, Ohio and Steven Evans of St. Louisville, Ohio; three daughters, Lynda (Ronald) Maidel and Bettie (Melvin) Shipley, both of Newark, and Kathy (Dan) Lewis of Utica, Ohio; two brothers, Don (Ann) Breeden of Dresden and Robert (Dee) Breeden of Newark; one sister, Peggy Jones of Dresden; her step-mother, Betty Breeden of Cleveland, Ohio; twenty-nine grandchildren; forty-nine great grandchildren; three special friends, Flossie Frazier, Ron Russell and Hazel Dodson, all of Newark; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul E. Evans on April 4, 1969; her second husband, James R. Newlon of August 16, 1990; a son Jerry L. Evans; a sister, Patty Workman; a brother, Richard Breeden; and five grandchildren. Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm Thursday, June 12, 2003 at Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 West Main Street, Newark, Ohio. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Friday, June 13, 2003 at the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Gene Waters and Pastor Greg Sheets officiating. Burial will be in Smith Chapel Cemetery near Reform, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, 1984-A Coffman Road, Newark, Ohio 43055.
