A memorial service for William Wiedenbein, 82 of Newark will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor John Harra officiating. Mr. Wiedenbein passed away Monday June 11, 2007 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. He was born September 26, 1924 in Pleasant Corners, Ohio to the late William F. and Ersle (Smith) Wiedenbein. Mr. Wiedenbein was a graduate of Grove City High School, and served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Wiedenbein was retired from the Newark Air Force Base, where he had worked as a Quality Assurance Specialist. Mr. Wiedenbein was an avid gardener. He enjoyed electrical work and radio repair. He will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered as a wonderful, loving husband and a devoted father. Survivors include his wife of over 58 years, Margaret E. (Worley) Wiedenbein, whom he married October 22, 1948; two sons, Michael Wiedenbein of Columbus, Mark (Michelle) Wiedenbein of Sanford, Michigan; grandchildren, Thomas and Cody Wiedenbein of Michigan; sisters, Elenora Reichard of Miamisburg, Ohio, Miriam Hall of Columbus; sister in-law, Viola Tipton of Florida; and special nieces and nephews, Margaret Jean Warren and Martha Jane Davis, both of Florida; and Ronald (Linda) Tipton of Findlay. Friends may call one hour prior to the memorial service, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Neal Avenue United Methodist Church, or to Hospice of Central Ohio. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
