FRAZEYSBURG ? William A. Walpole, 71, of 171 Sunset Drive, NE, Newark, Ohio, died at 1:12pm Sunday, March 30, 2003 at Genesis Bethesda Hospital, Zanesville, Ohio. Born April 4, 1931 in Muskingum County near Dresden, Ohio, he was the son of the late George and Elizabeth Ruth (Scanlan) Walpole and was a 1949 graduate of Frazeysburg High School. Mr. Walpole retired in 1993 as a shipping foreman with the Bowerston Shale Company of Hanover after 43 years of services. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed tractor pulls and square dancing. Surviving is his wife, Lois E. (Shuey) Walpole, whom he married June 20, 1953; one son, Larry (Kathy) Walpole of Newark; two daughters, Darlene (Terry) Garee of Heath, Ohio, and Sharon (Curt) Martin of Newark; one brother, Ronald Walpole of Dresden; two sisters, Ola Davis and Norma Jean (Ross) Newell both of Dresden; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, two brothers, Samuel and Junior Walpole, and a sister, Betty Osborn preceded him in death. Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm Tuesday, April 1, 2003 at Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 110 Third Street, Frazeysburg, Ohio. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at the funeral home with Rev. William G. Cronk officiating. Burial will be in Hanover Cemetery.
