William A. Spellman, 81, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Thursday morning, January 8, 2015 at Signature Health Care Center in Coshocton, Ohio.
Born June 25, 1933 in Black Run, Ohio he was a son of the late John and Bernice (Levingston) Spellman and was a 1952 graduate of Frazeysburg High School. He was a Navy veteran having served during the Korean War and he retired in 1988 from Owens-Corning Fiberglass where he had been a warehouse supervisor. Mr. Spellman was a member of the Meadow View Church of Christ in Frazeysburg, the Owens-Corning 25 Year Club and he was a member of the Frazeysburg Village Council for many years.
Surviving is his loving wife of nearly 62 years, Carol J. (Walrath) Spellman whom he married March 28, 1953; three grandchildren, William R. (Jessica) Spellman, Jr., Erin Stotts and Megan Spellman; nine great grandchildren, Taylor, Brandon, Austin, Peyton, MaKinsey, Gavyn, Jaycob, Chase and Carlie; a sister, Wilma Crawford of Coshocton and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, William R. "Rusty" Spellman, Sr. and a brother, Robert L. Spellman.
Calling hours will be from Noon to 3pm Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at the Meadow View Church of Christ, 6750 Raiders Road, Frazeysburg.
Funeral services will be 3:00pm Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at the Meadow View Church of Christ with Minister Sam Dunn officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
