Obituary

William B. "Bill" Senter, 90, of Dresden, Ohio died Wednesday afternoon, January 31, 2018 at Zanesville Health and Rehabilitation Center in Zanesville.

Born November 20, 1927 in Conesville, Ohio he was a son of the late Forrest and Pansy (Tumblin) Senter and was a 1945 graduate of Conesville High School. Following high school he was drafted into the United States Army and proudly served during the end of World War II. Bill retired in 1990 from the United States Postal Service after 20 years of service, the last six years of which, he was Postmaster at the Frazeysburg Post Office. Prior to working with the Postal Service, he worked at the Clow Corporation for 19 years.

Bill was a member of Conesville United Methodist Church; member and Past Master of Dresden Lodge 103, F. & A. M.; Past High Priest of the former Dresden Chapter of R. A. M.; member of Zanesville Council of R. S. M. and the Scottish Rite, Valley of Cambridge. He loved to read and he enjoyed traveling.

Surviving is his loving wife of over 66 years, Jeanne E. (Lacey) Senter whom he married August 18, 1951; one son, Terry (Mary) Senter of Nashport; two daughters, Debra (Howard) Carroll of Park Falls, Wisconsin and Tracey (Richard) Clements of Roseville, Ohio; twelve grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren, with two more on the way and one great great grandchild. Also surviving is one brother, Dean Senter of Dresden and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Dalton Senter; one grandson and one great granddaughter.

Calling hours will be 2pm to 5pm Sunday, February 4, 2018 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street. Dresden Lodge 103, F. & A. M. will conduct Masonic services at 5pm, following calling hours.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, February 5, 2018 at the funeral home with Pastors Phil and Karen Gibson officiating. Following the funeral service Military Honors will be presented by Dresden American Legion Post 399.
