FRAZEYSBURG ? William W. Pritz, 96, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Saturday morning, August 15, 2009 at Genesis Bethesda Hospital, Zanesville, Ohio. Born December 2, 1912 in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of the late Lawrence G. and Hazel (Parsons) Pritz. A graduate of The Ohio State University, he spent his entire career in the steel and metal alloy industry, first at Inland Steel Corporation as a process control supervisor, and later at the Ohio Ferro Alloys Corporation, which was founded by his father, Lawrence G. Pritz in 1928. There he served as work manager and superintendent at several of the company?s plants. He was also active in the company?s research and development departments. Mr. Pritz served on the board of directors of Simetco Corporation and was a member of the American Society for Metals. He retired from the steel and alloy industry in 1970, but he remained active as a volunteer at Good Samaritan Hospital until 2008, serving most recently at the Center for Occupational and Outpatient Rehabilitation. Mr. Pritz was a longtime member of the board of directors at the Muskingum Respiratory Care Association and served as chairman of its finance committee. In 2007 the William W. Pritz Community Room at the new Rambo Memorial Health Center in Zanesville was dedicated in his honor. Surviving is one son, Todd A. Pritz of St. Louis, Missouri and one daughter, Sarah I. Bricolas of Newport Ritchie, Florida. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth A. (Wiese) Pritz, whom he married July 19, 1948 and who died April 30, 1997 and a brother, Jerry Pritz. Calling hours will be 6 to 8pm Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at the Frazeysburg Chapelof Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street. Funeral services will be 11:00am Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
