A memorial service for William R. Pickrell, 63 of Alexandria will be held Monday, June 8, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Gus Christo-Baker officiating.Mr. Pickrell died Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at his residence. He was born February 25, 1946 in Zanesville, Ohio to William Roy and Louella M. (Flynn) Pickrell.Mr. Pickrell was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a retired area pharmacist and had been a part-owner and pilot for Central Skyport Charter Service. He was a corpsman in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict.Survivors include his mother Louella; wife, of 22 years, Janet (Covey) Pickrell, whom he married September 13, 1986; sons, Christopher and Lorena, Sean and Mindy, Matt and Lori; brother, Patrick and Lynn; mother-in-law, Jean Covey; four grandchildren, Alexandria, Damien, Zachary and Morgan; along with his special pets.The family will receive friends Monday from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.The family requests memorial contributions to Hospice organizations or the USO. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
