William E. "Bill" Nethers, 79, of Newark, Ohio died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, Tuesday morning, October 31, 2017 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
Born November 22, 1937 in Perry Township of Licking County, he was a son of the late Charles E. and Margaret M. (Rogers) Nethers and he attended Hanover-Toboso High School. Mr. Nethers was a retired maintenance supervisor with Bowerston Shale Company of Hanover and was a member of the Coshocton Church of God. He was active in collecting and refinishing antiques of all types, but was especially proud of his collection of Allis-Chalmers tractors. He also enjoyed traveling and camping but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Surviving is his loving wife of 62 years, Linda L. (Broseus) Nethers whom he married May 6, 1955; two sons, Terry Eugene (Teresa) Nethers of Dresden, Ohio and Charles Raymond (Claudia) Nethers of Newark; one daughter, Jan (Doug) Shepard of Newark; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Travis, Alyssa, Jordan, Cameron, Landon, David and Katelyn; twelve great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Also surviving is one brother, Dean (Jean) Nethers of Newark; two sisters, Shirley Lee and Patricia (Dean) Redman, both of Newark, a sister in-law, Martha Nethers of Newark and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles "Donnie" Nethers and a brother in-law, Lester Lee.
Calling hours will be 5pm to 8pm Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Friday, November 3, 2017 at the funeral home with Pastor Jared Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Smith Chapel Cemetery.
