William "Bid"
Mohler
January 3, 1925 – November 6, 2018
William G. "Bid" Mohler, 93, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Tuesday morning, November 6, 2018 at Genesis Morrison House in Zanesville, Ohio.
Born January 3, 1925 in Zanesville he was a son of the late William H. Mohler and the late Garnet (Lowery) Mohler Hoffer. Mr. Mohler proudly served our country in the U. S. Army during World War II and he received a Purple Heart for injuries received in France in 1944. He was a retired employee of Mattingly Foods of Zanesville. "Bid" was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and loved farming and beekeeping. Another of his activities was quilting and he has made over 75 quilts. His greatest love was his family and attending their many sporting activities. Over the year he attended hundreds of ballgames and rarely missed any sporting event of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are three son, William "Skip" Mohler of Nashport, David (Carolyn) Mohler and Travis (Amy) Mohler, both of Frazeysburg; four daughters, Nancee (John) Bay of Frazeysburg, Karen (Mike) Wright of Dresden, Tacey Griffin and Randi Mohler of Zanesville; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Also surviving are four brothers, Daniel (Judy) Hoffer of Chandlersville, Earl (Darlene) Hoffer of Adamsville, Robert (Samee) Mohler and Gary (Amelia) Mohler, both of Texas; five sisters, Wilma Rock, Doris Sowers and Sandra (Carl) Church, all of Zanesville, Linda (Terrell) Robinson of North Carolina and Diane (Roger) Kreis of Adamsville and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Jeanne (Brown) Mohler whom he married May 20, 1950 and who died June 19, 2015; a sister Mary Krause and four brothers, George Mohler, John Mohler, Jimmy Mohler and Bobby Hoffer.
Calling hours will be from 11am to 1pm Friday, November 9, 2018 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will be at 1:00pm Friday, November 9, 2018 at the funeral home with Chaplain Tim Patton officiating. Burial will be in Irville Cemetery in Nashport.
