FRAZEYSBURG ? William R. Hindel, 69, of Newark, Ohio, died at 8:05pm Saturday, September 4, 2004 in the emergency room of Licking Memorial Hospital, Newark. Born June 21, 1935 in Cass Township of Muskingum County, Ohio he was the son of the late William Henry Charles ?Bus? Hindel and Leona Mae (Camp) Hindel of Dresden. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the U. S. Navy from 1952 to 1956 and he retired from Rockwell International of Heath, Ohio after 38 years of service. Mr. Hindel was a member of the United Ancient Order of Druids of Newark; Heath Eagles 3723; American Legion Post 85 of Newark; Wakatomika Post 6193 VFW of Frazeysburg and the AmVets of Thornville, Ohio. Surviving is his wife, Marlene (Lafferre) Hindel, whom he married August 9, 1985; five sons, Raymond (Ellen) Hindel of Warsaw, Ohio, Alvin (Marlene) Hindel of Nashport, Ohio, Richard (April) Hindel, Dale (Angela) Hindel and Duane (Holly) Hindel all of Newark; two daughters, Katherine Hindel Keeran of Hebron, Ohio and Dorothy (James) Hindel Kinser of Coshocton, Ohio; two step daughters, Virginia (Roger) Bush Hindel of Dresden and Mary Ann (John) Schmutz of Thornville; seven brothers, Robert (Pat) Hindel, Jerry (Cheryl) Hindel and John (Dorothy) Hindel all of Frazeysburg, James (Sandy) Hindel of Newark, David (Marge) Hindel and Eugene Hindel both of Dresden and Paul (Karen) Hindel of Coshocton; two sisters, Loretta (Bill) Boals of Zanesville and Linda (Larry) Swingle of Philo, Ohio; eleven grandchildren; three step grandchildren; one great grandchild; many aunt, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Daniel Lee Keeran and several aunts and uncles. Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 9pm Tuesday, September 7, 2004 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 110 Third Street. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at the funeral home with the Rev. Danny Workman officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
