FRAZEYSBURG ? William R. ?Bill? Ramsey, 91, formerly of Perryton, Ohio died at 7:25pm Friday, August 24, 2007 at Arlington Nursing Home, Newark, Ohio. Born July 30, 1916 in Pike Township of Coshocton County, he was the son of the late Clarence R. and Nellie E. (Robinson) Ramsey and was a 1934 graduate of West Carlisle High School. Mr. Ramsey was a former member of the West Carlisle Presbyterian Church and a current member of Mt. Pleasant Christian Church. He was also a former member of the Licking Valley Lions Club and the Perry Township Historical Society. Mr. Ramsey retired in 1976 from the Ohio National Guard where he had been a mechanic and an electrician. He was also a farmer. Surviving is three daughters, Darlene (Charles) Lentz of Frazeysburg, Barbara J. Ramsey of Newark and Carolyn (Stephen) Bretz of Cincinnati, Ohio; a sister, Edith Fairall of Frazeysburg; seventeen grandchildren, including Rosemary Barboza of Newark; forty great grandchildren; fifteen great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Lena M. (Ashcraft) Ramsey, whom he married March 23, 1936 and who died October 31, 2006; one son, Darrell R. Ramsey; and one great grandson, Antonio Martinez. Calling hours will be 6 to 8pm Monday, August 27, 2007 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street. Funeral services will be 10:30am Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at Mt. Pleasant Christian Church with the Rev. Karl Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in Robinson Cemetery.
