A funeral service for William L. ?Bill? McCoy, 64 of Newark will be held Wednesday February 23, 2005 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home. Mr. McCoy died Friday February 18, 2005 at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born August 17, 1940 in Cambridge, Ohio to the late Charles Henry and Virginia LuLu (Postalwait) McCoy. He is survived by his wife, Marcia J. (Moore) McCoy, whom he married March 18, 1971; four sons, William L. McCoy, II of California, Andrew L. McCoy of Heath, Charles W. McCoy of Columbus, Tobby S. McCoy of Seattle, Wa.; daughter, Patricia J. McCoy, Newark; sister, Betty J. (Gus) Benson of N. Carolina; seven grandchildren; nieces, Regina Pinney of Pataskala, Ann Lynn Taylor of Conesville and nephew Jimmy Wright of Coshocton. Mr. McCoy retired as a First Class Petty Officer from the U.S. Navy in 1990 with 33 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed family activities and vacationing at the ocean. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara McCoy and Donna J. Moore. Calling hours will be observed Tuesday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home 1850 West Main Street. Memorial contributions may be made to a veteran?s organization of your choice.
