William B. ?Bill? Hamilton, 76, of Dresden, died at 11:58PM Sunday August 19, 2007 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. Mr. Hamilton was born December 13, 1930 in Piedmont, Harrison County, a son of the late Oscar Ross & Eva G. (Cash) Hamilton. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. A member of the United Mine Workers for over 50 years, he retired in 1986 as a shovel operator from Muskingum Mines near Dresden. He was a member of the Charles M. Mitchell Post #399 American Legion, a past member of the Lions Club in Cadiz and a member of St. Ann?s Catholic Church in Dresden. Surviving are his wife, Connie L. (Evans) Hamilton, whom he married November 12, 1955; children, Brenda L. Smythe of Dresden, Brenton R. Hamilton of Zanesville, William G. ?Bill? (Jane) Hamilton of Dresden, Nick (Tiffany) Hamilton of Dresden; grandchildren, April Smythe, Austin Hamilton, Shelby Hamilton; great-grandchildren, Brody Smythe, Anna Conrad, Cameron Conrad and Ava Hamilton. In addition to his parents he was preceded by a grandson, Ryan A. Hamilton. Friends may call 5-8PM Wednesday August 22, 2007 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30AM Thursday at St. Ann?s Catholic Church with Father Jack Maynard officiant. Burial will follow in Dresden Cemetery.
