William J. "Bill" Duncan, 76, of Zanesville, Ohio died Monday afternoon, February 23, 2015 at Genesis Morrison House in Zanesville.
Born February 13, 1939 in Cambridge, Ohio he was the son of the late Kenneth K. and Mildred I. (Piper) Duncan and was a 1957 graduate of New Concord High School. Mr. Duncan retired in 2002 from Hupp-Stiverson Wilbert Vault Company with 36 years of service as a burial vault serviceman. He attended Norwich United Methodist Church and was a former member of Hubbard Lodge #220 in Adamsville. He was also a member of the Muskingum County Farm Bureau; a member of the American Angus Association since 1949 and was a member and Past Director of the Cockshutt Tractor Club. Bill was well known in the area as collector of toy tractors and other farm equipment memorabilia.
Surviving are three sons, Al Duncan of Zanesville, Randy (Teri) Duncan of Delaware, Ohio and Andy (Treva) Duncan of South Zanesville; two daughters, Tricia White of Zanesville and Jewel (Parry) Edman of Newark, Ohio; three grandchildren, Jake Duncan, Amber White and Calvin White; three step-grandchildren; a sister Kathleen Duncan of Zanesville and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is his very special friend, Jane Lowry of Norwich.
Calling hours will be from 4pm to 8pm Thursday, February 26, 2015 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Jean E. (Dunfee) Duncan whom she married December 26, 1959 and who died July 25, 2007.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Friday, February 27, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery in Sonora, Ohio.
