William R. "Wally" Bennett, 82, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Thursday morning, July 28, 2016 at Genesis Morrison House in Zanesville.
Born July 7, 1934 in Philo, Ohio he was a son of the late Clinton and Bessie (Sprague) Bennett and was a 1953 graduate of Philo High School. He retired in 1996 from the Muskingum County Highway Department where he was a truck driver. Wally was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing, mushroom hunting and many other outdoor activities.
Surviving is a daughter, Melanie (Don) Pagath of Duncan Falls, Ohio; a son, Randy (Rhoda) Bennett of Bowling Green, Ohio; three step-sons, Cuddy (Janet) Ritchason of Bakersfield, California, Randy (Linda) Ritchason and Jay Sebach, both of Nashport; ten grandchildren, several great grandchildren; a sister, Marlene Duckett of Florence, South Carolina and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia A. (Allbritain) Bennett who died February 5, 2012 and two sisters, Aldine Beck and Betty Benadum.
Calling hours will be from 10am to 11am Monday, August 1, 2016 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Graveside funeral services will be at 11:30am Monday, August 1, 2016 at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, 1475 Military Road, Zanesville.
