Willard E. "Gene" Hatfield, 76, of Adamsville, Ohio died Monday morning, May 21, 2018 at Selma Markowitz Care Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio in Newark, Ohio.
Born June 3, 1941 in Meigs Township of Muskingum County, he was a son of the late John A. and Esther S. (Bethel) Hatfield. Mr. Hatfield proudly served our country as a member of the U. S. Marine Corp during the Viet Nam War. He retired from Ansel-Edmont of Coshocton after 32 years of service. He was also an active farmer and was very involved in 4-H with his children and grandchildren. He attended Prospect United Methodist Church and was a member of Hubbard Lodge #220, F. & A. M. of Adamsville.
Surviving is his loving wife of nearly 55 years, Martha J. (Foraker) Hatfield whom he married July 27, 1963; two daughters, Rhonda (Randy Stotts) Hatfield of Dresden and Jennifer (Denver) Untied of Adamsville; five grandchildren, Jordan (Brittni) Butler, Abbie (Chris Spring) Butler, Aarin Butler, Logan and Lane Untied and two great grandchildren, Jakob and Kade Butler. Also surviving are five brothers, Robert Hatfield, Charles William Hatfield, Clarence Hatfield, Ed (Debbie) Hatfield and Larry (Linda) Hatfield, all of Zanesville; a sister, Betty Harden of Zanesville and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, John Hatfield.
There will be no calling hours.
Graveside funeral services will be at 11:00am Friday, May 25, 2018 at New Hope Cemetery in Adamsville. Pastor Sharon Williamson will officiate.
