Obituary

Willard H. Crozier, 86, lifelong resident of Dresden, died unexpectedly at 3:47PM Friday June 3, 2005 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Dresden on April 5, 1919, a son of the late Sheldon and Gertrude (Paynter) Crozier. Willard had worked for the Village of Dresden in the street department and been the sexton of the Dresden Cemetery for many years, helping care for the cemetery grounds with his wife, Margaret, long after his retirement. He had helped his son, Ron, the current cemetery sexton, prepare the cemetery for Memorial Day last week. He enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid gardener, hunting ginseng, hunting and playing billiards. He was an Army veteran of WWII and a life member of the DAV. Surviving are his wife, Margaret (Wright) Crozier; six daughters, Wanda (Tony) Green of Adamsville, Peggy Shelton, Becky Stotts and friend, Geoff Percy, Kathy (David) Coats, Nancy (Scott) Robinson, Janet Kildow of Zanesville, all of Dresden; a son Ronald Crozier of Dresden; many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and sister, Bernice (Herb) Hamby of Dresden and several nieces and nephews. His brothers, Charles, Dempsey, Bernard, David Lee Crozier, sister Adalene Ruebush and son in law Daniel Shelton preceded him in death. Friends may call 6-8PM Monday June 6, 2005 at the Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street, Dresden, where services will be held at 1PM Tuesday with Pastor Rick Boyer officiating. Burial will be in the Dresden Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dresden Fire Dept., P.O.Box 687, Dresden, OH 43821.
