Wayne F. ?Buck? Smith, of Dresden, died at 8:25AM Thursday August 3, 2006 at Cedar Hill Care Center in Zanesville. Mr. Smith was born September 28, 1931 in Dresden, a son of the late Harry M. and Myra (Mortimer) Smith. He was a graduate of Jefferson High School in Dresden and served in the US Marine Corps and the Naval Reserve. Mr. Smith had worked at Armco Steel following his return from the service and went on to spend his career at the Ohio Power Co. Devoted to his family and community, he had organized the Boy and Cub Scouting program in Dresden with Father John Kempf and was a former member of the American Legion Post in Dresden and was active in Dresden Lodge #103 F.&A.M. where he was a past master and a 32nd Degree Mason. He enjoyed hand crafting furniture for his family and was a private pilot. Surviving are his wife, Agnes L. (Lazar) Smith; his children, Valerie Davis of Dresden and Harry (Cynthia) Smith of Allen, Texas; grandchildren, Jeremy, Brandon, and Christopher Davis of Dresden, Wayne and Audrey Smith of Allen, Texas; sisters, Twila Cullins of Zanesville and June Lacy of Dresden. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and his son-in-law, John W. ?Jack? Davis, Jr. Friends may call 6:30-9PM Saturday August 5, 2006 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home. A Masonic Service will be held at 6PM at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 3PM Sunday at the funeral home and friends may call one hour prior to the service. Pastor Andrew Dennis will officiate and burial will follow in the Dresden Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dresden Fire Dept., P.O.
