On Sunday morning, March 29, 2015 Waunita Marie Hogue, 86, of Adamsville, Ohio was called home to be with her Lord and Savior and her loving husband, Carlos.
Born November 17, 1928 in Beaver Township of Noble County, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Eugene R. and Wilma G. (Shamhart) Johnson and was a 1946 graduate of Dresden Jefferson High School. Mrs. Hogue was a faithful member of the Adamsville United Methodist Church and was a 60 year member of Eureka Grange. For many years she was a member of the Muskingum County Home Extension Service group of Adamsville. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting and crocheting, but her greatest enjoyment was being with her family. Waunita worked for many years alongside her husband on the family dairy farm.
Surviving are two sons and daughters in-law, Larry E. and Pamela Hogue and Gary A. and Lori Hogue, all of Adamsville; five grandchildren, Ryan (Amber) Hogue, Eric (Shannah) Hogue, Alan Hogue, Mark (Liz) Hogue and Michelle (Brandon) Barr; seven great grandchildren, Alex, Erin, Megan, Tim, Garrett, Bryce and Kynlee; a brother, Ivan (Delores) Johnson of Zanesville; a sister, Ruth Henthorne of Zanesville and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Carlos E. Hogue whom she married November 20, 1949 and who died March 11, 2014; a sister, Dorothy Fostor and two brothers in-law, Gerald Fostor and Frank Henthorne.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at the Adamsville United Methodist Church, 8065 East Street, Adamsville.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at the Adamsville United Methodist Church with Pastor Kurtis Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
