Warren R. Kirk, 93, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Friday afternoon, October 3, 2014 at his home.
Born May 9, 1921 in Breeden, West Virginia he was a son of the late John Henry and Janie (Vance) Kirk and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He retired from the maintenance department of Rockwell International of Heath, Ohio with 35 years of service. Mr. Kirk was a member of the Newark Heights Church of God where he was head usher and served faithfully for many years. He loved hunting and fishing with his son, Tyrone, and this year, at the age of 93, shot a turkey while leaning on his cane.
Surviving is his loving wife of 72 years, Mabel (Williamson) Kirk, whom he married May 27, 1942; a son and daughter in-law, Tyrone and Beverly Kirk of Frazeysburg; a daughter and son in-law, Patricia and Mike Holtz of Nashport; five grandchildren, Kimberly, Brandi, Matthew, Tanaya and Tai; five great grandchildren; three brothers, Jack (Barbara) Kirk of Texas, Bill Kirk of Columbus and Carl (Patricia) Kirk of Fallsburg, Ohio; three sisters, Thelma (Locie) Vance, of Columbus, Ohio, Oretha (Carter) Chaffin of Reynoldsburg, Ohio and Doris Ann (Frank) Damron of Pataskala, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Dave, Raymond and Chester Kirk and two sisters, Ruth Elam and Juanita Andrix.
Calling hours will be 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm Thursday, October 9, 2014 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Friday, October 10, 2014 at the funeral home with Pastor Scott Murphy officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
