Obituary

NEWARK: A funeral service for Warren E. Dickover, 71 of Emerald Isle, North Carolina will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 25, 2010 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Elaine Gard officiating. Burial will be in Newark Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Dickover died tragically Saturday, September 18, 2010 in Jacksonville, NC. He was born March 20, 1939 in Newark, Ohio to the late Warren E. and Sarah C. (Gamble) Dickover.

He retired as a supervisor from Lucent Technology and the former Western Electric with 35 years of service. He was a member of the Swansboro United Methodist Church in Swansboro, NC and St. Johnâ??s United Church of Christ in Newark. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, Thornville Masonic Lodge, Aladdin Temple and York Rite. He enjoyed traveling and photography. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy.

Survivors include the love of his life of 55 years; his wife Roberta (Charlton) Dickover, whom he married October 27, 1962; a daughter, Nicki (Jon) Winchester of Greenville, NC; sons, Eric (Kim) Dickover of Heath, Jeff Dickover of Thornville; grandchildren, Adam Dickover, Warren Evan â??Macâ? Dickover, Jacob Dickover, and Kaitlyn Bray; a sister, Donna L. (Stone) Parker of Thornville; a brother, Wesley D. (Phyllis) Dickover of Stewart, FL.; his friend and companion, his dog Heidi; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 24, 2010 and one hour prior to the service Saturday at Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
