A funeral service for Warren ?Pete? Colvin, 76 of Newark will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2008 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Chaplain Bill Burkamp officiating. Burial will be in Hanover Cemetery with the Licking County Veterans Alliance providing military honors. Pete passed away Friday, December 12, 2008 at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born March 9, 1932 in Antioch to the late Victor and Faye (Thomas) Colvin. He was a retired operating engineer. He proudly served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army. Pete was a faithful member of American Legion Post 85 in Newark and a member of Operating Engineers Local 18. He loved baseball, was a devoted family man, and enjoyed singing. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Phyllis (Haught) Colvin, whom he married March 10, 1956; sons, Chad Colvin of Newark, and Josh (Andrea) Colvin of Marysville; daughters, Shella (Clair) Miller of Newark, Marsha (Kevin) Malherbe of Bethpage, Tenn., Pansy (Mike) Neal of Dover, Fla.; a brother, Rick (Mary) Colvin of Antioch; sisters, Elva Jean Csanyi of Akron, and Karen McVey of Belpre; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark.
