Wanda M. Field, 68, of Frazeysburg, Ohio passed away Wednesday morning, December 23, 2015 at her home following a progressive illness.
Born March 22, 1947 in East Peoria, Illinois, she was a daughter of the late James F. and Ruth L. (Sherrill) Osborn and was a 1965 graduate of East Peoria High School. She attended Illinois State University and Bradley University and received her Master's degree in education. She retired from teaching in Slidell, Louisiana after 30 years of teaching at various locations and states. She enjoyed working with children very much and spending time her family and friends. She and her late husband both had their pilot's license. Her idea was that if he passed out while flying, she could safely land the plane.
Mrs. Field was a member of the Frazeysburg Meadow View Church of Christ.
Surviving is her daughter and son in-law, Juliet and Steve Hindel of Frazeysburg and her "granddog", Abby. Also surviving are several cousins.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Field, whom she married June 8, 1968 and who died February 1, 2010; six uncles, two aunts, a brother in-law and a niece.
The Field family would like to give a very special thanks to Genesis Hospice for the loving care and assistance they gave to Wanda during her final days on earth with us.
Calling hours will be 11am to 1pm Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Memorial services will be at 1:00pm Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the funeral home with Minister Sam Dunn officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
