DRESDEN ? Walter ?Jack? Graves, 86, of Zanesville, OH died at 1:15am Thursday, May 31, 2007 at Genesis Morrison House Hospice, Zanesville. Born March 29, 1921 in Dresden, OH, he was the son of the late Walter and Nellie Mae (Baum) Graves and was an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Graves was a laborer with many different companies over the years. Surviving is two sons, Gary (Melody) Graves of Vienna, VA and Joe Graves of Zanesville; two daughters, Sue Sines and Janie McConnell, both of Zanesville; five grandchildren, Scott Graves, Steve Graves, Beth Sines, Eric McConnell and Amy McConnell; one great grandchild, Annabel Brattina; a brother, John (Emma) Graves of Zanesville and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Jean (Cain) Graves, whom he married July 14, 1945 and who died October 3, 2006, a son Terry Graves who died August 15, 2005, a sister Floretta McGee and three brothers, Robert, Lester and Orville Graves. Calling hours will be 6 to 8pm Sunday, June 3, 2007 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Monday, June 4, 2007 at the funeral home with the Rev. Tim Patton officiating. Burial will be in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
