Virgil E. Mullinnex, of Dresden, died at 9:36PM Friday September 10, 2004 in the Genesis Bethesda Hospital ER. Mr. Mullinnex was born October 4, 1921 in South Zanesville, a son of the late Jason Benjamin and Gracie Mae (Hamilton) Mullinnex. He had served in the Ohio National Guard and had driven a product route for Cannon?s Bakery over 35 years. For 12 years he was a bus driver for the Tri-Valley School District. Mr. Mullinnex was a member and former trustee of the First Baptist Church in Dresden and was a retired long-time member of the Dresden Fire Department. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Ellen Louise (Reed) Mullinnex, whom he married June 13, 1941; a son, Don (Sharon) Mullinnex of Dresden; daughters, Carolyn (Leonard) Cole of Tiltonsville, Jackie (Jerry) Adams of Lakeland, FL; 14 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Jean Harper, on December 11, 1989, two brothers, James Mullinnex, killed in action in France during WWII, and William Mullinnex. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8PM Tuesday September 14, 2004 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, where services will be held at 11AM Wednesday with Pastor Fred Compston officiating.
