Violet Emelyn McGee, 83, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died early Monday morning, January 13, 2025 at The Oaks of Bethesda in Zanesville, Ohio.

Born July 17, 1941 in Barnesville, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Emelyn (Morton) and Robert B. Pierce, Sr. and a 1959 graduate of Barnesville High School.  Violet was a past member of Community Bible Church and more recently Christian Assembly Newark.  She enjoyed quilting and crocheting; she was an excellent seamstress.  Violet was also known for making the best homemade noodles.  She was always involved in her children and grandchildren's lives; whether it be a den mother, leader at vacation bible school, or just being there to help support them.  Family was extremely important to Violet, and she loved spending any time she could with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband, Robert A. McGee, Sr. whom she married October 31, 1959; three daughters, Judith (Jay) Lefever and Helen (Donald) O'Flaherty both of Frazeysburg and Brenda (Tony) Dostroph of Warsaw; three sons, Robert "Tony" (Paula) McGee, Jr. of Newark, James (Theresa) McGee of Frazeysburg, and Matthew (Dianna) Pierce of Philo; fifteen grandchildren, Kimberly, Paul, Megan, Lance, Brent, Andrew, Kyle, Brian, Joseph, Daniel, Sarah, Jordan, Tyler, Amada, and Randall; 17 great grandchildren; brother, Frosty (Janet) Pierce and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Jack Pierce, Robert Pierce, Jr., Irene VanFossen, and Helen Castello.

Friends and family may call 5pm-7pm on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 16, 2025 at the funeral home with Bishop Paul Skaggs officiating.  Violet will be laid to rest in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
