Obituary

Vickie "Renee" Emerson, 47, of Trinway, Ohio passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior Thursday morning, August 3, 2017 at Genesis Morrison House after a fourteen month battle with colon cancer. Her loving family was at her side.

Born March 15, 1970 in Zanesville, Ohio she is a daughter of Larry and Joyce (Clawson) Caldwell of Hopewell, Ohio. Renee was a 1989 graduate of West Muskingum High School and she received her Bachelor's Degree in specialized studies from Ohio University. She was an educational aide at Tri-Valley High School.

Renee's life was a testament to her faith and values. She had many interests and hobbies, but her crowning achievement was her three daughters, who she work tirelessly to instill the same high standards she lived by. She was a dedicated servant of so many causes in her church and community and could always be counted on to serve in any capacity. She spent many years working side by side with her husband to build the family greenhouse business and loved helping their many customers. Renee was revered by her children as "the most awesome mom ever" and will be sadly missed by family, friends and anyone else lucky enough to have made her acquaintance.

Surviving in addition to her parents is her loving husband, Ralph L. Emerson whom she married December 10, 1994 and her loving daughters, Frannie, Gabby and Emmie. Also surviving are two sisters, Bethany Brown of Zanesville and Anne Pleasants of Columbus, Ohio, as well as five nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends.

Calling hours will be 4pm to 8pm Monday, August 7, 2017 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at the Dresden United Methodist Church, 1014 Main Street with Pastor Richard Purvis officiating. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Genesis Cancer Care Center, 2951 Maple Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio 43701 or to Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults, 1215 East Fort Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21230. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
