NEWARK ? Vann R. ?Rob? Swartz, 47, of Newark, Ohio died Monday morning, October 19, 2009, at his residence after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Born April 3, 1962 in Newark, he is the son of Claude Swartz of Newark and the late Katherine (Nethers) Swartz. Mr. Swartz attended Utica High School and was a painter with AcuPro Painting of Newark. He loved riding his Harley and he was an avid softball player with his co-workers. Surviving in addition to his father, is three brothers, Jim (Sandy) Swartz and Rick (Cindy) Swartz, both of Frazeysburg, Ohio and Randy Swartz of Michigamme, Michigan; two sisters, Sue (Tony) Angeletti of Utica, Ohio and Kitty and Doug of Newark; half brothers, Mark (Nancy) Swartz of Frazeysburg, C. J. Swartz of Newark and Jeff (Sara) Swartz of Clinton, South Carolina; three half sisters, Bob (Sandy) Cierny of Wooster, Ohio, Linda (Merle) Johnson of Staten, Michigan and Debra Zdoniak of Rittman, Ohio; several nieces and nephews and his pet ferret, ?Levi?. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother Craig Swartz. Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 West Main Street. Funeral services will be 11:00am Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Michael Newland officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery.
