Obituary

Vallie D. Parsons, 87, of Dresden, died at 12:40 AM Friday October 17, 2003 at Genesis Morrison House . Mrs. Parsons was born May 26, 1916 in Columbus, a daughter of the late Clarence and Edna Nicholson. She had worked for 25 years at Doctors North Hospital as a nurse technician. Surviving are three sons, Vernon (Kay) Parsons of Dresden, Clarence (Pat) Parsons of Zanesville, and Richard (Rita) Parsons of Dresden; seven grandchildren, Kim (Rocky) Brownfield of Nashport, Kelly (Randy) Wycinski of New Lexington, Karen (Drake) Prouty of Dresden, Shane Parsons of Duncan Falls, SPC. Jared Parsons of Ft. Sill, OK., Brenda (Donnie) Moran of Dresden, and Brad (Becky) Parsons of Pataskala; thirteen great-grandchildren, Melissa Brownfield, Aaron Brownfield, Sydney Lapp, Dayne Prouty, Mitchell Wycinski, Jared Wycinski, Austen Parsons, Brodie Moran, Devin Moran, Tristin Moran, Wylie Moran, Savanna Moran and Abby Parsons; a sister Audrey Eggleston of Hilliard; two sisters-in-law, Hazel (M.D.) Parsons of Malta, and Gladys Leach of McConnelsville; nieces and nephews, Arthur (Charlotte) Melfe of Hilliard, Jack Lane of Columbus, Sandy Parsons of Denver, CO., and Phyllis (R. D.) Leeling of Montrose, CO. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Parsons was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne N. Parsons, who died September 15, 1959; a sister Laura Gill, a brother Clarence Nicholson, and a great-granddaughter Lacey Lapp. Friends may call 2-5 PM Sunday October 19, 2003 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at the funeral home with Brent Kirk officiating. Burial will follow in Dresden Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Genesis Hospice; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
