A funeral service for V. Madeline Jacobs, 81 of Newark will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday November 21, 2007 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Chow officiating. Burial will be in Newark Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Jacobs died Saturday November 17, 2007 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center. She was born April 22, 1926 in Frazeysburg to the late Wilmer B. and Lala F. (Evans) Blizzard. She was a graduate of Frazeysburg High School. She worked as a bus driver for 17 years with Newark City Schools and was a member of Faith United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Joanne (Rod) Guisinger of Newark; sons, Jack E. (Brenda) Jacobs of Newark; James J. Jacobs of Buckeye Lake; grandchildren, Todd (Tricia) Jacobs of Austin, Tex., Jill Jacobs, Joshua Jacobs, both of Columbus, Sherry (Josh) Smith of Delaware, Shelly Guisinger of Newark, and Anthony Jacobs of Granville; a brother John C. (Jane) Blizzard of Frazeysburg; and a sister, Josephine Bowman of Newark. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Richard W. Jacobs, whom she married April 6, 1947 and who died July 15, 2002; a sister, Eleanor Sidle; and a brother, Bronson Blizzard. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio or Faith United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
