Travis Jay Lewis

Travis Jay Lewis, 55, of Newark, Ohio died Friday night, April 10, 2026 at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark.

Born May 27, 1970 in Newark, he was a son of Dan J. Lewis and the late Kathy I. Lewis and a 1988 graduate of Mt. Vernon Career Center. He was a Christian by faith and an over the road truck driver for many years. Travis was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed playing games on his phone, fishing, playing with his dogs, and showing off his purple pickup truck.

He is survived by his father, Dan Jay Lewis; a brother, Trevor Lewis; five sisters, Tina Kent, Tila Lewis-Elliot, Tara Lewis, Tylena Lewis, and Tyra/Tanesha Lewis; two children; two grandchildren; his best friend, “Dollar-Dollar Bill” and his dogs, Knuckles and Riley.

Travis was preceded in death by his mother, Kathy I. “Cookie” (Evans) Lewis who died February 8, 2017 and a sister, Tracy Lewis.

Calling hours will be 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. Sunday, April 19, 2026 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil-Wagner-Marshall Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.

A graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 20, 2026 at Smith Chapel Cemetery, 4895 Reform Road NE, Newark, Ohio 43055 with Pastor Bart Rine officiating.

Travis will be laid to rest in Smith Chapel Cemetery with his mother.
