A graveside service for Thomas S. Haynes, 81 of Newark will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery at Noon on Thursday October 18, 2007 with Pastor Noel Dear officiating. According to his wishes, no calling hours will be observed. Mr. Haynes died Monday October 15, 2007 at the Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born August 15, 1926 in Newark to the late Samuel Miles and Dorsa (Hitchcock) Haynes. Mr. Haynes retired in 1982 from Rockwell Manufacturing as a supervisor. He had also served in the Ohio National Guard. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Evelyn (Hina) Haynes, whom he married July 18, 1948; daughters, Connie Giles and Rodney Speelman of Newark, Sherry (Gene) Carter of Newark, Kim (Eric) Dickover of Heath; son, Tim Haynes of Nashport; grandchildren, Jenny Dunlap of Newark, Brandon Haynes of Nashport, Whitney Carter of Newark, Adam Dickover of Heath; great-grandchildren, Katrina Dunlap and Elizabeth Dunlap both of Newark; special friend John Whiteside of Newark and his companion Chipper.Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio 2269 Cherry Valley Road SE, Newark, Ohio 43055-9925.
