Obituary

Thomas B. ?Tom? Durant, 70, of Zanesville, died Thursday evening in the emergency room of Genesis Good Samaritan. Mr. Durant was born January 25, 1933 in Zanesville, a son of the late Leo and Ida (Musselman) Durant. He retired from General Electric in New Concord in June 1995 and appreciated and actively participated in the preservation and restoration of vintage tractors. He was an active member of the Dresden, Freeland and Legend Valley Old Steam and Gas Clubs and had attended the Brownsville U. Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Janet (Mack) Durant; sons, James Durant and fianc? Meda Love of Newark, Dean (Danene) Durant of Fostoria, Chad (Dawn) Pollock of Zanesville; daughters, Carol Duff and fianc? Larry Macenko of White Cottage, Lisa (Matt) Hittle of Nashport; brothers, James (Vicky) Durant of Zanesville, Fred Durant of Upper Arlington, sisters, Joan (Don) Cockayne of Alpine, Calf., Gloria Durant of Columbia, Maryland; granddaughters, Emily and Jill Durant, Meagan Duff, Lacie Hittle, Hannah Pollock, Katie Macenko, grandsons, Chad Rice, Logan Hittle, Jacob Gibson, Dalton and Tahlor Macenko, great grandchildren, Collin and Zoe Rice and several nieces and nephews. A son, Daniel J. Durant who died June 25, 1993, preceded him in death. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-9PM Sunday November 16, 2003 at the Adamsville Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, where services will be held at 11AM Monday with Pastor John Sellers officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
