Obituary

Thelma Mae Gardner, 101 of Zanesville passed away Sunday September 30, 2007 at The Helen Purcell Home. Mrs. Gardner was born September 16, 1906 in Frazeysburg to the late Maxwell C. and Nora (Blizzard) Hamilton. Mrs. Gardner was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Muskingum Chapter #485 of the Eastern Star, from which she had received her 75 year pin. She was a teacher for many years at various schools throughout Muskingum County. Survivors include nephews, Kenny (Debbie) Hamilton of Kingston, Ohio, Mark Hamilton of Powell, Ohio, Bill (Cathy) Hamilton of Alexandria, Ohio; a niece, Debbie (Gary) Flannigan of Omaha, Nebraska; 4 great nephews; 3 great nieces; and 1 great great niece. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred W. Gardner, August 9, 1974; 1 brother; and 2 sisters. Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral service from 12-1:00p.m. Thursday October 4, 2007 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 110 Third Street, Frazeysburg. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Jeff Belt officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
