Funeral services for Thadeus D. (Homer) (Ike) Floyd, 96 of Buckeye Lake, will be held on Monday October 27, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Myers officiating.Mr. Floyd died Friday October 24, 2003 at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born August 22, 1907 in Logan, Ohio to the late John Collins & Harriett (Shaw) Floyd. In addition to his parents his wife, Frances (Robey) Floyd died in 2001, two sons Robert Floyd and John Floyd, two sisters, Mary Harner, Pauline Davis; three brothers, Frank Floyd, Charles Floyd and Harry Floyd are deceased.He is survived by two daughters, Mary Vaubel of Hebron, Cheryl (Duane) Battle of Buckeye Lake; three sons, Charles (Augustine) Floyd of Heath, Michael (Sharon) Floyd of Marion, Patrick (Margie) Floyd of Logan, 22 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 2 great - great grandchildren and a special K- 9 friend, Tippy.Mr. Floyd an electrician, retired in 1973 from Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corporation with 30 years of service. He was a 60year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 972, and a member of United Steel Workers Kaiser Local 341Friends may call Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home 1850 W. Main Street Newark Memorial contributions may be made to Homeward Bound Humane Society, 544 Dog Leg Road, Heath, Ohio 43056. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
