Funeral services for Terry J. Nelson, 88 of Heath will be held Thursday May 22, 2025 at 6:00 pm in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Martin Gehring officiating. Visitation will be observed from 4 pm to 6 pm at the funeral home. Private family interment will take place at a later date.

Mr. Nelson passed away on Friday May 16, 2025 at Mt. Carmel East Medical Center. He was born September 27, 1936 in Neenah, Wisconsin to John H. and Nelda (Raehl) Nelson.

Terry retired from Rockwell International with over 41 years of services. He also was employed for 32 years as a bus driver for the Heath School System. He was a graduate of Newark High School. He was a member St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church and had served as an usher. He also served in the local National Guard Unit. He enjoyed being an outdoorsman, hunting small animals, deer and fishing. Favorite pastimes included traveling and gardening. He was a fan of OSU sports, Browns and Guardians. He was present at his grandson's car races whenever possible. Many delightful trips were spent at Lake Erie with a group of longtime friends.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Karen L. (Anco) Nelson; daughter, Brenda L. Nelson of Newark; son, Rick A. (Tamie)Nelson of Newark; grandson, Quinten T. (Payton) Nelson of Utica; great-grandchildren, Creed and Finley; several nieces & nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Barbara Livingston, Doris (Donald) Olt.
