Terry R. "Coach" Nethers, 78, of Toboso, Ohio died unexpectedly Tuesday evening, November 8, 2016 in the emergency room of Licking Memorial Hospital.

Born July 8, 1938 in Toboso he was a son of the late Clarence and Kathleen (Varner) Nethers and was a 1956 graduate of Hanover-Toboso High School. Mr. Nethers retired from Owens-Corning Technical Center in 2000 and from Licking Valley Schools in 2015 where he had been a coach for many years. Terry was a member of the Licking Valley Church of Christ where he served several years as a Deacon, Elder and volunteer. He was also a member and Past Master of New Home Lodge #338, F. & A. M. and a member and Past Patron of Hanover Chapter #220, O. E. S.

Surviving is his loving wife of 59 years, Sue E. (Street) Nethers whom he married July 27, 1957; his four children, Natalie (Bobbie Matthews) Nethers of Aurora, Colorado and Craig (Diana) Nethers, Jennifer (Robert) Flowers and Travis (Melanie) Nethers, all of the Licking Valley area; his grandchildren, Amanda, Rebekah, Kasey, Martha, Brooke, Caleb, Tyler, Cole, Blake, Elizabeth, Vincent and Sydney; a brother, Doug Nethers of Toboso, brothers in-law and sisters in-law, Robert and Cindy Street and Robert and Janis Shultz; sister in-law, Jackie Nethers and several nieces, nephews and many friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Melvin Nethers and a sister in-law, Karen Nethers.

Calling hours will be from 2pm to 6pm Sunday, November 13, 2016 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street. Following calling hours Masonic services will be conducted by New Home Lodge #338.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, November 14, 2016 at the funeral home with Minister Gus Andrews officiating. Burial will be in Hanover Cemetery.
