Syntha Ann (Barr) Dye, 88, of Dresden, passed away at 12:30AM Wednesday November 20, 2002 at Morrison House Hospice. Mrs. Dye was born January 31, 1914 in Smithville, West Virginia. She retired from the Good Samaritan Medical Center housekeeping department in 1979 and was Methodist by faith. Surviving are two sons and daughters in law, Ray and Darlene Dye of Dresden and David and Debbie Dye of Utica, two grandsons, Dr. Bruce A. (Barbara) Dye of Maryland and Bradley K. (Sue) Dye of Dresden, four great grandchildren, Katlyn, Wesley, Claire, Ethan Dye, two step great grandchildren, Margaret and Nikki, two sisters, Lona Maze and Zetta Hupp both of Parkersburg, West Virginia. Mrs. Dye was preceded in death by her parents, Freeman G. and Minnie Belle (Adams) Barr, two sisters, Pauline Stephens and Hazel Maurshak, four brothers, Glenn, Edward, Harry and Wilbur Barr. Friends may call from 11:00AM Friday November 22, 2002 until a 2:00PM service at the Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home in Dresden. Pastor John Earhart will officiate. Burial will follow the Norwich Methodist Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Genesis Hospice; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
