Sylvia Joan (Acord Smythe) Aronhalt, 70, of Dresden, died at 12:25AM Sunday April 1, 2007 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital following a four week illness. Mrs. Aronhalt was born June 30, 1936 near Frazeysburg, a daughter of Michael and Gladys (Barcus) Acord. A life long area resident, she had been a secretary at the Bush Woolen Mill in Dresden and worked at Social Supper. Mrs. Aronhalt retired from the Longaberger Company after many years, being one of the first employees and weavers when the company was located on north Main Street in Dresden. She had also been a long time Longaberger basket consultant. A member of the Dresden United Methodist Church she was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Dresden, the Rambling Roses and was known for decorating cakes in Dresden. She is survived by her daughters, Christia ?Chris? (Tim) Wilcox of Dresden, Karen (Bob) Arnold of Frazeysburg; grandchildren, Heidi (Doug) Doyle of Trinway, Crystal (Jeremy) Brokaw of Zanesville, Billy Wilcox and his fianc? Amber Harris of Dresden, Karri (Patrick) Michel of Frazeysburg, Stori (Corp. Dan) Harper of Ft. Hood, Texas; great grandchildren, Colton and Coby Doyle, Morgan and Madison Brokaw, Clayton and Connor Michel, Jarrett and Gaige Harper; brother Gilbert (Grace) Acord of Heath, sisters, Marlene (James) Helt of Mt. Gilead, Janice (Robert) Lewis of Normal, Ill; an aunt, Bertha Anderson of Jeffersonville, Ohio and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John L. Smythe, Jr. and her second husband, Glenn Thomas Aronhalt. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-9PM Tuesday April 3, 2007 at the Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home in Dresden, where services will be held at 11AM Wednesday with Pastor Ricci Arthur officiating. Burial will follow in the Frazeysburg Cemetery.
