A funeral service for Susan A. (Higgins) Mendenhall, 53 of Newark will be Saturday September 30, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. John Fields officiating. Burial will be in Hartford Cemetery, Croton. Susan died Tuesday at the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital in Columbus. She was born April 1, 1953 in Clifton Springs, NY to the late Harold R. and Nancy J. (Burrell) Higgins. Susan graduated from Heath High School in 1971 and was employed by WalMart. She enjoyed reading and loved the beach. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her. Survivors include her sister, Diana Higgins of Newark; her brother, Gene (Julie) Higgins of Zanesville; an aunt, Charlene Burrell of Johnstown; an uncle, Jim (Linda) Callan of Fla.; nieces, Lindsay (Dan) Higgins, Megan Higgins, Dusti (Mark) Toman, Stephanie Higgins, Andrea Higgins, and Jennifer Higgins; nephews, Alan Higgins and John M. Radu, II.; great nieces, Alyssa, Emma, and Mya Toman; lifetime friend, Debbie Davis; and very special cousins and extended family. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark. Memorial contributions may be made to the James Cancer Hospital.
