A funeral service for Steven A. Lewis, 61 of Newark will be held Saturday December 17, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of God, God?s Acres 675 N. Cedar Street with Pastor Roger L. Decker officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens. Mr. Lewis died Tuesday December 13, 2005 at Mt. Carmel East Medical Center. He was born December 5, 1944 in Middleport, Ohio to the late Wesley T. and Helen (Fox) Lewis.He retired in 2001 from Owens Corning Fiberglas with 33 years of service. He was a member of Church of God, God?s Acres and helped in the dining hall. He enjoyed constructing model cars. He loved spending time with his family and was a father figure to many others.Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Rose M. (Mummey) Lewis, whom he married October 28, 1967; children, Rebecca A. (Kevin) Fox of Galloway, Cynthia M. Lewis of Newark, Steven A. (Teressia) Lewis, Jr. of Morganton, NC., William W. (Kathy) Lewis of Heath, Paul W. (Tasha) Lewis of Newark; brothers, James (Saundra) Lewis of Coshocton, William (Tudy) Lewis of Zanesville, Charles (Carol) Lewis of Zanesville; sisters, Peggy Darst of Zanesville, Betty Johnson, of Carroll, Janice (Jack) Hastings of Pline, W. Va., June Woods of Zanesville; five grandchildren; two step-granddaughters; one step-great grandson; many nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother John Lewis; two sisters Gladys Spencer and Inezabella Lewis.Calling hours will be observed Friday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Church of God, God Acres 675 N.
