Funeral services for Steven M. Friesner, Sr., 56 of Newark will be held Wednesday December 31, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at the Church of God, God?s Acres 675 N. Cedar Street with Pastor Roger L. Decker officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery. Steve graciously passed from this life December 26 at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born March 6, 1952 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late Bernadine M. Perez-Friesner. My Dad attended the Church of God at God?s Acres since the 1970?s. He also retired from Western-Southern Financial Group in 2006 after 28 years of service. He loved to spend time with my Mom, my wife, my kids and myself. He did all he could for each and every one of us. Dad loved stock car racing, camping, Red?s baseball and Bengal?s football (WHO-DEY!) Above all though was always family. Dad is survived by my grandpa, James L. Friesner, Sr.; his brother, Timothy (Karen) Friesner; my loving mother to whom he was married 30 years, Kitty M. (Erwin) Friesner; myself Steven M. (Katherine) Friesner, Jr. and three beautiful grand babies, Megan (Nut-Meg) Friesner, Lane (Tiger) Friesner, Hailey (Precious) Friesner all of Newark; three God-sons, SGT. Jeremiah W. (Heidi) Hogan of Pennsylvania, SPC. Stephen M. (Alyson) Hogan of Texas and Andrew M. Hogan of Heath all of whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his mother. Calling hours will be observed Tuesday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home 1850 West Main Street Newark.
