A funeral service for Stanley E. Wilson, 93, of Newark will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 10, 2022, in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with his son, Deacon Patrick Wilson officiating. Burial will be at Poplar Forks Cemetery, Gratiot, OH.

Stanley passed away surrounded by family Wednesday morning, October 5, 2022 at his home. Born January 22, 1929, in Toboso, OH, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and retired in 1985 after 35 years as a truck driver for Commercial-Lovelace Motor Freight. Stanley and his late wife, Donna, had been active in the Licking County Genealogical Society; and both were long-time members of Dawes Arboretum.  Stan also served as a Deacon at Fairmont Presbyterian Church. He was an artist, musician, an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed wood working, clock repairing and making leather goods. Stanley loved his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his great-great-grandson.

He is survived by his children, Diana (John) Hall of Newark, Patrick (Kathy) Wilson of Newark, Dennis (Angela) Wilson of Delta, OH, and Christina Wilson of Cape Coral, FL; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a brother, Bernard Wilson of Gratiot; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Donna (Ankrum) Wilson, May 2, 1990. His brother, Earl Wilson Jr., December 7, 2002, and grandson, Chad Eugene Wilson, January 7, 2021.

Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday at the funeral home, 1850 W. Main St., Newark.
