SSG (Ret) Lee Roy Lowder, Jr., 74, of Adamsville, died at 4:45PM Friday March 31, 2006 at Beckett House at New Concord. Mr. Lowder was born April 25, 1931 in Columbus, a son of the late Amelia Park and Lee Roy Lowder, Sr. Mr. Lowder proudly served his country in the US Army for 20 years, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Charles Mitchell Post #399 American Legion, V.F.W. Post 15036 and was an avid fisherman and bowler. He had also worked for 10 years at the Longaberger Company. Surviving is his wife, Roberta M. (Hitchcock) Lowder, whom he married April 3, 1953; his children, Deborah (Sean) Murphy of Warsaw, Earl (Christine) Lowder of Zanesville, Sandra (Robert) Dunlap of Zanesville, Lee Roy (Ronella) Lowder, III of Adamsville, 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews; brothers, Robert (Sally) Lowder, Richard (Debbie) Lowder both of Albuquerque, NM , sisters, Pat (Wally) Osborne of Tavares, FL, Teresa (Joseph) Lambertus of Winters, CA, Cathi Padilla of Albuquerque, NM. He was preceded in death by his step-mother, Barbara Lowder and sisters, Mary Louise Latham and Elizabeth C. (Chavez) Wolf. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8PM Monday April 3, 2006 at the Adamsville Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral home, where service will beheld at 11AM Tuesday with Pastor Bracken Foster officiating. Burial will follow in Baptist Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Adamsville Fire Department and Squad; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
