FRAZEYSBURG ? Spencer M. Nethers, 79, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Thursday morning, January 10, 2008 at his home. Born May 1, 1928 in Jackson Township of Muskingum County, he was the son of the late Max A. and Daisy (Spencer) Nethers. He was a 1946 graduate of Frazeysburg High School and was an Army veteran serving during the Korean War. Mr. Nethers was a self-employed truck driver and he retired in 1997. He was a life member of Wakatomika Post #6193, VFW in Frazeysburg and a member of the Frazeysburg Veterans Club. He was also a member of the Buckeye Vintage Haulers Association, the Antique Truck Club of Pastaskala, Ohio and the Old Steam & Gas Club of Dresden. Mr. Nethers was a former member of the Frazeysburg Volunteer Fire Department and he was currently serving on the Frazeysburg Village Council. Surviving is his special friend, Karen Marshall of Zanesville, Ohio and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jake Nethers and two sisters, Mae Cunningham and Louise Boyce. Calling hours will be 2pm to 5pm Sunday, January 13, 2008 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Monday, January 14, 2008 at the funeral home with Dr. James A. Schumacher officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery with Wakatomika Post #6193, VFW conducting military honors.
