Sondra D. "Sandy" Hindel, 73, of Hanover, Ohio died Wednesday evening, August 1, 2018 at Selma Markowitz Care Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio in Newark, Ohio.

Born October 8, 1944 in Coshocton, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Frank and Gladys (Taylor) Spinks and was a 1963 graduate of Three Rivers High School. Mrs. Hindel was a homemaker and for several years she was the cafeteria manager at K-Mart.  She enjoyed cooking, baking and taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving are two sons, James B. (Patty) Hindel, Jr. of Hanover and Jeffery W. (Lynette) Hindel of Newark; two daughters, Jennifer A. (Doug) Guilliams and Jody L. Zimmo, both of Hanover; eleven grandchildren, Angie Wright, Melisha Hindel, Ryan Hindel, Matthew Hindel, Nicole Hindel, Douglas Guilliams, Miranda Guilliams, Rachel Guilliams, Dalton Zimmo, Jaylyn Zimmo and Bradon Hill; two great grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way. Also surviving are two brothers, Frank Spinks of Coshocton and Larry (Alice) Spinks of Warsaw; two sisters, Linda (Terry) Taylor of Coshocton and Bev (Steve) Thomas of Warsaw and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, James B. Hindel, Sr. whom she married November 16, 1963 and who died August 8, 2017.

The family would like to give a very special thanks to Sandy's sister in-law, Loretta Boals of Hanover.

Calling hours will be 6pm to 8pm Sunday, August 5, 2018 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Monday, August 6, 2018 at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Granger officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
