A funeral service for Sierra â??Sueâ? Honnold, 69 of Newark will be held Thursday May 27, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Wyatt officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Honnold died Sunday May 23, 2010, her 51st wedding anniversary, at her residence. She was born March 13, 1941 in Newark, Ohio.
Mrs. Honnold was a self-employed housekeeper. She had worked for several area businesses including Newark City Schools and Park National Bank.
She enjoyed traveling, crocheting, cooking and loved the time spent at family gatherings.
She is survived by her mother, Clarabelle (Whyde) North of Newark; daughters, Penny (Jerry) Bush of Newark, Deanna Honnold of Newark, Marla (Boyd) Yates of Hebron, Misty (Scott) Lowry of St. Louisville; grandchildren, Ricky (Christy), Jay, Jennifer (Darian), Melisha, Jessica (Steven), Steven; great-grandson, Vince; adopted special children, William, Kimberly, Braxton; best friend, Doris Kirkendall; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Allen; husband of 47 years, Dean I. â??Deanoâ? Honnold, whom she married May 23, 1959; brothers, Gary Allen and Butch Allen.
Calling hours will be observed Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, 1850 West Main Street.
