Shirley A. Butler, 73, of Dresden, died unexpectedly Monday morning December 24, 2007 at her home. Mrs. Butler was born May 5, 1934 in Adams Mills, a daughter of the late Harvey and Dorothy (Coverdale) Larr. She was a member of the Madison Presbyterian Church in Adams Mills and enjoyed designing and creating porcelain dolls and had an extensive collection. Her passion was her family; she was devoted to her children and thoroughly enjoyed being a grandma. She was always there to support her children?s activities and was enthusiastic in her support of her grandchildren?s athletic endeavors. She is survived by her children, Jeffeory (Peggy) Butler of Frazeysburg, Gregeory ?Runt? (Sherry) Butler of Nashport, Danette (Dee) Prince of Dresden, Edgar (Cari) Butler of Dresden, Melinda ?Mindy? (Mark) Havens of Frazeysburg, Danny Vic Butler of Dresden, and sons in law, Jeff Prince of Dresden and Kevin West of Nashport, her beloved grandchildren, Calib Butler, Carrie (Matthew) Schott, Cassie (Jeremy) McNerney, Callie Butler and fianc? Scott Brown, Rhett Butler, Sara Prince, Ali Prince, Joby Butler, Josh Butler, Cameron West, Carlie West, Taylor Butler, Treyjen Butler, great grandchildren, Sam Schott, Lillie Schott, Jacob McNerney, Jerrod McNerney, brother, Gary Larr of New Jersey, sister Barbara Lockhart of Massillon; special friends, Jane Rohr and Aloma Graves and her longtime next door neighbor, Virginia Garver. Her husband, Daniel V. Butler on September 7, 1991; a grandson, Jordan M. Butler and a brother, Raymond Larr, preceded her in death. Friends may call 5-8PM Thursday December 27, 2007 at the Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home in Dresden. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11AM at the funeral home with Dr. John J. Arnold officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to any Tri-Valley or West Muskingum athletic program.
