Obituary
Funeral services for Shirley A. Burdette, 74 of Ripley, West Virginia will be held Friday November 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Newark Chapel Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Brother George H. Gordon officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery.
Shirley died Monday October 31, 2016 at the Jackson General Hospital in Ripley. She was born December 8, 1941 in Columbus, OH to Harold F. and Elsie M. "Sally' (Hoover) Gordon.
She had pursued many different careers and was always a homemaker to her family. She enjoyed watching TV sports programming and movies.
She is survived by her daughter, Veronica "Ronnie' Hoover of Ripley; grandson, Jackson d. Hutchison-Friend of Cambridge; brother, George H. (Alice) Gordon of Hebron; son-in-law, Richard Wentz of Millersburg, OH; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sally E. Friend-Wentz; sisters, mary (Bill) Gochenbach, Vivian (Dwight) Stickle; brother, John Gordon.
Calling hours will be observed Thursday November 3, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral Home 1850 West Main Street.
