Obituary
A memorial service for Shirley D. Briggs, 56 of Newark will be held Friday, May 25, 2012 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the sanctuary of Bible Baptist Church, 50 Price Road Newark with Pastor Paul Reimer officiating.
Mrs. Briggs died Monday May 21, 2012 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. She was born July 19, 1955 in Zanesville, Ohio.
Mrs. Briggs was always willing to offer a helping hand. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her mother, Colleen T. (Frame) Sowers of Pataskala; husband of 36 years, Philip N. Briggs, whom she married January 24, 1976; children, Bambi Bruck of Heath, Jason (Kim Smith) Briggs of Pataskala, grandchildren, Darron Bruck, Halie Bruck, Jayson Briggs, Casey Bruck, Cory Briggs, Brittany Briggs, Rayna Nelson, Hannah Bartley; sisters, Judy Sowers of Pataskala, Connie (Fred) Usi of Fairfield, CA.; brother, Eugene (Janice) Sowers of Pataskala; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Earl E. Sowers and sister and brother–in-law, Naomi (Jay) Swoyer.
